SachsenKrad 2020 – the first motorcycle show of the year in Germany

All the brands, over 20 German premieres, lots of motor sports, special ebike-days show

From January 17 to 19, 2020, SachsenKrad will be held at Messe Dresden for the 26th time. It is the meeting place for all two-wheeler fans, with over 130 exhibitors and all the well-known brands represented at the 10,000-square-meter MESSE DRESDEN. SachsenKrad Dresden presents the highlights of the coming season for two-wheeler fans. The trade fair marks the start of the motorcycle year and in Dresden, all well-known manufacturers and their dealers will be presenting more than 20 German premieres. The new BMW S 1000 XR, for example, will celebrate its German premiere at SachsenKrad, along with the BMW F 900 R and XR. Yamaha has no fewer than five German premieres at SachsenKrad, and is targeting young people who want to gain experience with the entry-level naked bike MT-125. KTM is presenting a travel motorcycle for beginners with the 390 Adventure, and the 890 Duke R and the KTM 1290 Super Duke R are also on display for the first time. Triumph is presenting the new Rocket 3, a power roadster in two versions. Kawasaki is presenting the Z 900 for the first time in Germany. Honda is showing the radically new Honda Fireblade and the revised Africa Twin, which is positioning itself more clearly for the 2020 model year in the off-road segment. In 2020, SachsenKrad is going off-road again with its special ENDURO BASE3 and is giving the enduro stronghold of Saxony a wintry home for the fifth time.

Motorsport and SachsenKrad have gone hand in hand from the very beginning. The ADAC truck will be on hand to provide information about the motorcycle Grand Prix at the Sachsenring. Various teams and active participants from the Supersport World Championship, the Endurance World Championship and national racing series will once again be available to answer questions from their fans. Local hero Lennox Lehmann, the last champion of the ADAC Junior Cup, will also be back at SachsenKrad. The whole event will be moderated by motorsport expert Bernd Fulk, who has been involved in SachsenKrad from the very beginning. The trade fair program will once again include two stages, the trade fair cinema and the biker church service on Sunday. There will be pocket bike demonstrations in the outdoor area.

Electromobility in the two-wheeler sector is on the increase: according to the Association of European Motorcycle Manufacturers (ACEM), Europe's two-wheeler markets are booming, and e-mobility is also booming. According to the ACEM, a total of 58,295 electric mopeds, motorcycles and quadricycles were registered in the first nine months of 2019. This represents a significant increase of 61.3 percent compared to the number of registrations in the same period of 2018. The Harley-Davidson LiveWire, the world's first electrically powered motorcycle from a large-scale manufacturer, the Vespa Elettrica – an electric scooter based on a classic model, and the manufacturer, the Vespa Elettrica – an electric version of the classic scooter, and the KTM SX-E5 2020, a newly developed mini motocross bike with an electric motor that is set to usher in a new era in racing. The e-bike days, which are taking place for the 10th time at the same time, will also offer a test track and new models ranging from pedelecs to cargo bikes. Highlights here include the presentation of one of the world's best e-road bikes, which at 11.9 kg is also extremely light, and the selfie session with Olympic and world champion canoeist Tom Liebscher on January 18 at 3 p.m. in Hall 2. He will report on how he effectively uses his eBike in training.

SachsenKrad 2020 will take place at Messe Dresden from January 17 to 19 and will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the weekend. Admission costs 8 euros. Admission is free for children and young people under the age of 16 when accompanied by an adult. For schoolchildren, students and apprentices, the day ticket costs just €4. On Saturday and Sunday, the wedding fair will be taking place in Hall 1 of MESSE DRESDEN at the same time as SachsenKrad. Those who want to celebrate a wedding but also see the new bikes don't have to choose between the fairs. At the transition between Hall 1 and Hall 2, there is a trade fair transition with a checkout and for only 4 euros more you can easily switch to the other fair.
